Make music

Arrangement

Eight bars become a full song.

Sections organize the structure — verse, chorus, bridge. Drag to reorder the whole song. Audio and MIDI on the same timeline, one cursor for every edit.

Recording

Record ten takes. Keep the best of each.

Audio and MIDI record onto the same timeline. Every pass stacks in a take lane — select the best sections from any take to build the final performance. Comp audio, MIDI, and automation the same way.

Mixing

Channel strips, LUFS metering, and mix versions.

LUFS loudness and true peak metering on every track. Save the mix as a version — fader positions, plugin settings, sends, everything. Switch back any time. Faders, sends, and sidechain handle the rest.

What's different

Sound quality

Twenty-eight null tests. Twenty-eight bit-perfect results.

64-bit summing, double-precision gain, per-sample automation. Bypass every plugin and the audio comes back bit-identical.

Plugin safety

Load any plugin. It can't crash the session.

Every plugin runs in its own process — VST3, AU, and ARA2. A crash restarts the plugin, not the session. Background scanning catches bad plugins before they load.

Musical intelligence

The piano roll knew the key before the first note.

Key track and chord track sit on the timeline. The piano roll highlights in-scale notes and shows chord function as roman numerals. MIDI clips preview the instrument waveform without bouncing.

Record, arrange, mix, and export — all in one app.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a subscription?

No. Neutral Tracks is a perpetual license — buy it once, own it forever. One year of updates is included. After that, major version upgrades are ~$49/year. Your license never expires, even if you skip upgrades.

What are the system requirements?

macOS only. Apple Silicon (M1 or later) recommended. Intel Macs supported but not the primary target.

What plugins does it support?

VST3, Audio Unit, and ARA2. If you own it, it works here — synths, effects, instruments, and pitch editors.

How many computers can I install it on?

Each license includes 3 activations. Studio desktop, laptop, and a spare.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. The beta gives you a 90-day free license with every feature unlocked, including save. No credit card required.

Can I import projects from other DAWs?

You can import audio files (WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC) and MIDI files. Project file import from Logic, Ableton, etc. is not supported — those formats are proprietary.
